Match Day 2026

Match Day will not define your career; how you respond to it will.

As Match Day approaches, and after nearly 30 years in medicine, I find myself reflecting on my own journey, from medical school at UC Irvine to residency at UCLA in 1997, and now returning to UCLA to study business as I build an unexpected new chapter in my career.

One of the greatest privileges of my career has been being present for some of the most meaningful moments in a woman’s life, and caring for patients across every stage.

Ob/Gyn is a challenging field, but that is exactly why it needs great physicians. Women deserve the best doctors, with the right intentions.

There are a million ways to get from point A to point B. Only one is a straight line, and it is rarely the most meaningful path.

Wherever you land on Match Day, keep moving forward. This is just one step in a much bigger journey.
